IASC 2016 Board of Directors Election
The International Aloe Science
Council (IASC) has announced five members were elected to serve three-year
terms on the board of directors at the association's board meeting on March 14,
in Anaheim, California, immediately following Natural Products Expo West. The
recently-elected directors will work with 12 current directors to govern the
association. IASC directors work with IASC staff and committees to set
policies, priorities, and guidance for the association, and take action to
promote the science of aloe vera and its use in a multitude of consumer
products.
The newly-elected directors
include Jeff Barrie, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, Aloecorp; Jesper
Hummeluhr, CEO, Aloe Vera Group ApS; Don Lovelace, President/CEO, Lily of the
Desert; Jose Alejandro Martinez Zapata, International and Institutional
Relations, Veracetics; and Don Smothers, President, Naturtech.
The IASC board of directors
meeting followed its second exhibit at Natural Products Expo West.
"Exhibiting at this event has been a very effective way to educate
consumers and retailers about the benefits of aloe vera products, and the
advantages of choosing products bearing the IASC certification seal. We
continue to inform manufacturers of the benefits of IASC membership and of
having their aloe products certified for content and purity," commented
Jane Wilson, IASC executive director.
"Exhibiting at Natural
Products Expo West provided an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the
IASC and its certification programs that help ensure the quality and purity of
aloe vera products, and to support the continued development of new products in
this category," added Steven Dentali, Chair of the IASC board of
directors.
