For Certified Products and Raw Materials |

| The IASC has initiated a random sampling program
for products and raw materials certified by the IASC. The new program's
purpose is to ensure that customers continue to receive high-quality, authentic
Aloe products.
Random sampling will be achieved with unannounced visits by IASC certification inspectors or designated representatives to companies with certified Aloe products or raw materials. Random selection will be determined by the IASC headquarters using a random number generator program. Liquids, powder products and finished goods will be sampled, but not all products will necessarily be tested. Raw material samples will be collected when finished goods are being sampled. Companies are being asked to keep sufficient retails of all to be used in case random sampling is requested. The inspector will present a Letter of Authorization from the IASC and request two samples of each product to be tested. |
Any certified Aloe product is subject to testing.
The company's Quality Control technician will perform the sampling under
supervision of the IASC inspector. Screw-cap sample containers and a cardboard
tube mailer will be provided by IASC for samples, which will be sealed with
cloth tape, initialed by the inspector and witnessed by the QC technician.
The inspector will send samples to IASC headquarters by regular U.S. Mail.
Retail products will be purchased at random and forwarded to IASC headqurters for processing. Random selection will be used and samples will be handled in the same manner as field samples. The IASC will keep one sample as a retain and "blind" the other sample with a code before sending it to an independent lab. The current IASC analytical test methods and requirements for certification will be in effect for all random sampling. Test reports will be sent to the IASC office, where they will be "unblinded" and sent to the company and to the chairmen of the Certification, Science and Technical, and Ethics Committees. |
